In 2003 Amplify Church was an aging, dying church that was on the verge of closing its doors. The average weekend attendance was under 200 people and the average age of church attendees was over 50 years old - more than 15 years older than the average age of our community. We knew that prayer was a key to our future - and we also knew that we had to change some things. Weekend attendance at Amplify Church now exceeds 2,000 people and the average age is approximately 35 years old with every generation well represented for the first time in many years.

Our dramatic turnaround was not sparked by changing our core values or beliefs - but by an openness to change programs, ministries, and practices that were no longer advancing the vision of our church. The changes we made led to a profound revitalization of our church that has positively impacted the lives of thousands of people - some in other parts of the world.

The dramatic turnaround of Amplify Church is featured in this video produced by Compassion International.

Changing your church’s approach to ministry may not be the threat you think it is to your church’s mission and existence. It may be the very thing that saves it.
